| Sadly we are to say goodbye to our good friend Martin Jackaman at the beginning of September. Martin has been working in the field of learning disabilities for almost 40 years. He will be missed by colleagues, friends and especially the many carers he has helped over the years. He recently became famous when he won The Guardian Public Servant of the Year in 2007 for his tireless work in promoting accessible toilets and setting up Changing Places. There are now three Changing Places toilets in the city and more planned to open soon. Even though Martin is retiring he will be continuing his work with Changing Places across the country with Royal Mencap. Nottingham Mencap had our own awards ceremony for Martin when we presented him with a comemerative toilet brush thanking him for all his support throughout the years. | Congratulations and a big thank you to Jane, Laura, Claire, Steve and Megan for doing the skydive and raising money for Nottingham Mencap. |
| After the initial date got cancelled due to strong winds they finally got the thumbs up on Sunday 11th July. |
