Our Cafe Our Cafe operates in the ground floor of Nottingham Mencap's city centre building and is open every week day from 9.30am to 3pm and now also provide a take-away breakfast service from 8.30am. The cafe is popular with shoppers and office workers and serves a range of home made meals, cooked to-order, snacks and cakes.
While working as a commercial business like many in the city, the cafe is primarily a training venue for people with learning disabilities who want to gain the skills and qualifications needed for work in the catering industry.
Why not come in and have a homemade tasty breakfast or lunch. We offer daily specials, such as homemade cottage pie £3.80 and stuffed mushroom pancakes £3 being just two, which are advertised on the boards within the café. We also have a new menu which is offered on a daily basis, Monday to Friday 9.30am until 3pm. If you haven’t got time to sit and eat why not try our freshly made rolls to takeaway, again which are made to order.

Forest legend John McGovern recently helped to launch the re-opening of Nottingham Mencap Cafe after the new refurbishment. Here he is with Ian Smellie, Nottingham Mencap's Chairman, and some of our students and volunteers. |
There is now free internet access and free wireless facilities for our customers in the new Nottingham Mencap Cafe.
