Smile No Bullying
Smile No Bullying started in 2003.  People said something needed
to be done to tackle bullying.
Smile No Bullying is about giving people confidence to speak up
about bullying; it is about being equal and a part of the community
Smile No Bullying helps set up groups where people can

  • Talk about bullying issues

  • Understand what bullying is and access support

  • make friends and feel good about themselves
Smile No Bullying runs training workshops for staff who can
support people with learning disabilities so they can

  • Identify bullying when it happens

  • Think about how to change the things that might make
    bullying more likely to happen

  • Set up Anti-Bullying Policies

In 2008 there are a choice of 3 dates for these:
29th September,
30th October and 8th December.
We will be going into schools to talk to children so that children can:

  • Understand that we are all different and that being different
    is a good thing!

  • Meet people with learning disabilities

  • know what to do if they see somebody being bullied
Smile No Bullying works with Nottinghamshire Police to tackle Hate
Crime and harassment towards people with learning disabilities
and to help people understand that the Police take bullying
seriously, and that they can report it on their phone line
(0800
085 8522)

In the future we will be working with residents' groups to think
about bullying in their local area.
