Transition Directory Nottingham Mencap are pleased to announce the arrival of the Transition Directory. This is a comprehensive guide for disabled young people , their parents and carers in Greater Nottingham. It will also prove a very useful tool to many professionals. This project was funded by Scope and together with Nottingham Mencap and The Children's Centre the directory was put together. The directory covers all aspects of the transition process including information on Employment and Training, Leisure, Health, Short Breaks, Transport and much more. | Nottingham Mencap held an Awards Ceremony on Monday 28th November at Harpenden House. Certificates of achievement were presented to over 100 students for City and Guilds vocational training and adult literacy and numeracy. National Open College Network certificates were presented in the subject areas of performing arts, music, catering, gardening and arts and crafts. Nottingham Mencap was also awarded the Outstanding Award for Neighbourhood gardens in the East Midlands Bloom competition. Certificates of appreciation were also presented to our tutors and support workers on the education and training projects with a special award of a "Tony" going to Tony Barfield, the ICT Tutor. It was upon reading learner evaluation forms that somebody had suggested for improvement that we have "more Tony's!" |
